Spencer Savings Bank Supports Local Organization, Eva's Village, in the Fight Against Poverty

(January 17, 2012) – Spencer Savings Bank showed its support for Eva's Village, a non-profit social services organization in Paterson, N.J. dedicated to community development and the fight against poverty. A team of six Spencer Savings Bank employees spent the afternoon on December 22, 2011 volunteering in the organization's soup kitchen.

(December 28, 2011) – Spencer Savings Bank collected more than 400 toys this holiday season through its successful annual Toy Drive to benefit St. Joseph's Children's Hospital, Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital, and Eva's Village. The toys were collected in all branch locations throughout Bergen, Essex, Passaic, and Union counties, as well as at the bank's corporate headquarters. The "Spencer Santa," along with his elves, visited each hospital on Monday, December 19, 2011, spreading cheer and handing out the donated gifts.

(December 1, 2011) – Spencer Savings Bank, a mutually-owned community savings bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, N.J., has announced that it is currently accepting new, unwrapped toys for ages birth through teen for its annual Toy Drive. Toys can be dropped off in 20 different locations throughout Bergen, Essex, Passaic and Union counties until December 15, 2011. The toys will be donated to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Paterson, Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital in Hackensack and Eva's Village in Paterson.

(December 1, 2011) – Spencer Savings Bank, a mutually-owned community savings bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, N.J., collected more than 1,500 pounds of food through its 2011 Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive in support of local community organizations, Loaves & Fishes Interfaith Food Pantry in Garfield, and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside.

(October 18, 2011) – Spencer Savings Bank will host a "Shred-It" Day at the Saddle Brook branch located at 140 Market Street. The event will take place on Saturday, October 29th between 1:00pm and 3:00pm and is free for all Saddle Brook residents.

(September 29, 2011) – Spencer Savings Bank, a mutually-owned community savings bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, N.J., recently donated $25,000 to the Northern New Jersey Chapter of the American Red Cross. The funds will be used to aid flooding relief efforts in areas of New Jersey affected most by Hurricane Irene.

(July 20, 2011) – Spencer Savings Bank awarded more than $20,000 in scholarships this year to 27 high school and middle school students through its annual scholarship program established to aid local youth in their pursuit of higher education. Each high school student was awarded $1,000 and each middle school student a $500 Coverdell Education Savings Accounts (CESA).
