SPENCER SAVINGS BANK TEAMS UP TO HELP BUILD HOME
FOR DESERVING PATERSON FAMILY
ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (July 10, 2008) –Spencer Savings Bank, headquartered in Elmwood Park, recently teamed up with the Paterson Habitat for Humanity and the NJ League of Community Bankers to help a family in need. As part of this community initiative, five Spencer employees spent the day helping to build a family’s dream home.
In today’s struggling economic times with increasing numbers of foreclosures, the NJ League of Community Bankers, of which Spencer is a member, came together to promote affordable housing to those in need. The League partnered with the Paterson Habitat for Humanity organization, which repairs and builds homes to aid low-income families. The organization has been building homes in Paterson for more than 22 years.

Spencer employees spent the day putting siding on the home as well as general clean up of the site. They spruced up the backyard, as well as cleaned out the garage area. The house is estimated to be completed by October of 2008.
