SPENCER SAVINGS BANK TEAMS UP WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS
FOR CLIFTON’S ANNUAL CAREER EXPLORATION DAY
ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (May 6, 2009) – Spencer Savings Bank recently teamed up with The Clifton Boys & Girls Club and The North Jersey Regional Chamber of Commerce for the 2nd Annual Career Exploration Day. Jesse Ventoso joined the staff of Spencer's Clifton Branch to explore one of his possible career interests, which is banking. Jesse worked alongside several employees throughout the day, including Branch Manager Ed Kurbansade.
The concept of Career Exploration Day is to help local students get an inside look into an industry they are interested in by allowing them to “shadow” an employee’s day to day job functions. By shadowing the staff for the day, the students learn first hand about their chosen profession and about possible future career opportunities in the industry.
Jesse’s mother works in business, which sparked his interest in the field. Jesse is currently a junior at Clifton High School. Upon graduating next year, he plans pursuing a college education, majoring in the field of business.
“I think it’s great that Spencer continues to have a dedicated interest in the children and their future within the communities we are serving,” said Kurbansade. “When it comes to making a difference, it’s wonderful to be a part of it.”
