SPENCER SAVINGS BANK AND THE CRANFORD JAYCEES CO-SPONSOR MOVIES UNDER THE STARS
ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (June 25, 2009) – Spencer Savings Bank, headquartered in Elmwood Park, recently co-sponsored "Movies Under the Stars" at Hanson Park in Cranford. This is the fourth consecutive year that Spencer has sponsored this event. The feature film, which drew more than 400 people, was Hotel for Dogs. Spencer volunteers served refreshments and freshly popped popcorn as well as gifts that were raffled among the crowd. Overall, the event raised more than $400 and all of the proceeds went to Spencer’s co-sponsor, the Cranford Jaycees.
"Being able to provide a friendly outdoor movie that helps to support a great cause is a rewarding experience," said Vincent Spada, Cranford Branch Manager. "We look forward to presenting another movie night in the town of Cranford next year."
The Cranford Jaycees are an active, respected community service organization that serves the needs of Cranford throughout the year, by sponsoring community events and by raising money particularly for college scholarships. All of the proceeds from this event will be applied directly toward the Cranford Jaycees Scholarship Fund.
