SPENCER SAVINGS BANK HOSTED SUCCESSFUL THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE FOR LOCAL CHARITIES
ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (December 1, 2009) – Spencer Savings Bank, headquartered in Elmwood Park, donated more than 1500 pounds of food items provided by both Spencer employees and customers for the Bank’s annual Thanksgiving food drive. Thanksgiving baskets were assembled and delivered to many organizations including: the Loaves & Fishes Interfaith Food Pantry of Garfield, St. Peter’s Haven in Clifton and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
For the third consecutive Thanksgiving, Spencer Savings Bank’s customers and employees have gone above and beyond to collect hundreds of canned goods and non-perishable food items to benefit families in need for the holiday season.
"We know charities continue to suffer due to the distressed state of the economy. Lately, they have had an especially tough time raising much needed funds," stated José B. Guerrero, Spencer’s President, Chairman and CEO. "We at Spencer are fortunate to be financially strong and in a position to lend our continued support to those in need. We are hoping this holiday season can be a happy one for our community."
