SPENCER SAVINGS BANK SPREADS CHEER TO SICK CHILDREN THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (December 21, 2009) – Spencer Savings Bank, headquartered in Elmwood Park, is pleased to announce that it collected more than 350 toys for its 2009 Holiday Toy Drive. Even with a gloomy economy, Spencer customers and employees donated the much-needed toys for the children in the hopes of raising their spirits during the holiday season. For the fourth consecutive year, Spencer’s Holiday Toy Drive provided gifts for children who are hospitalized during the holiday season. Santa Claus, along with his Spencer elves, made his way from headquarters to the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at the Hackensack University Medical Center, followed by the St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson. All of the remaining toys were donated to the NJ Community Development Corporation, which assists low-income Paterson families and the Garfield YMCA.
"The toy drive has been a great experience for all of us," said Janel Bazih, Marketing Manager and Assistant Vice President of Spencer Savings Bank. "We are thrilled to have had this opportunity to spread some holiday cheer to children who are in need."
