Spencer Savings Bank Supports Local Organization, Eva's Village, in the Fight Against Poverty
ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (January 17, 2012) – Spencer Savings Bank, a mutually-owned community savings bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, N.J., showed its support for Eva's Village (www.evasvillage.org), a non-profit social services organization in Paterson, N.J. dedicated to changing the lives of the hungry, homeless and addicted, as a team of six Spencer Savings Bank employees spent the afternoon on December 22, 2011, volunteering in the organization's soup kitchen.
Spencer Savings Bank employees toured the organization's facilities that span a three block radius in Paterson, and learned of the 14 individual programs offered at Eva's Village, which include Eva's Kitchen, emergency overnight shelter for men and women, shelter for women with children, transitional housing for homeless men and homeless women with children, various addiction treatment programs, a recovery center, free primary medical and dental care clinics, and affordable housing.
