Spencer Savings Bank's Annual Toy Drive Brings Joy to Local Communities
ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (December 28, 2011) – Spencer Savings Bank, a mutually-owned community savings bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, N.J., collected more than 400 toys this holiday season through its successful annual Toy Drive to benefit St. Joseph's Children's Hospital, Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital, and Eva's Village. The toys were collected in all branch locations throughout Bergen, Essex, Passaic, and Union counties, as well as at the bank's corporate headquarters. The "Spencer Santa," along with his elves, visited each hospital on Monday, December 19, 2011, spreading cheer and handing out the donated gifts.
"We are extremely pleased that our annual Toy Drive could continue to brighten so many children's holidays this year," said José B. Guerrero, Chairman, President and CEO of Spencer Savings Bank. "The holiday season is a time for giving, and with such generous support from our customers and employees, we were able to give back in a big way to those who deserve it most in the community."
In addition to visiting the local hospitals, "Spencer Santa" and his elves also spent Monday afternoon at Eva's Village, a non-profit social services organization in Paterson, N.J., wrapping donated gifts for the organization's Holiday Shoppe Program. The Holiday Shoppe Program provides presents to children living at the clinic, which houses mothers and their children.
