Spencer Savings Bank Collects More Than 1,500 Pounds of Food through Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (December 1, 2011) – Spencer Savings Bank, a mutually-owned community savings bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, N.J., collected more than 1,500 pounds of food through its 2011 Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive in support of local community organizations, Loaves & Fishes Interfaith Food Pantry in Garfield, and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside.

From November 1, 2011 to November 18, 2011, Spencer Savings Bank contributed to the fight against hunger by collecting non-perishable food items in all 19 branch locations throughout the Bergen, Essex, Passaic and Union counties, as well as the office headquarters. Emphatic support from both employees and customers led to the significant success of this year's food drive.

"We are incredibly proud of our employees and customers year after year for their full support of our Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive," said José B. Guerrero, Chairman, President and CEO of Spencer Savings Bank. "Their continuous and dedicated support of charitable and community-focused organizations goes a long way in brightening the holiday seasons of those who need it most, and in promoting the wellbeing and solidarity of our community as a whole."
