Free Annual Family Movie Night in Wayne

Hundreds of local residents enjoyed a free family movie night on June 24, 2017 at the Wayne Valley High School Field, presented by the Wayne Public Library and Spencer Savings Bank. The event was part of Spencer’s annual “Movies Under the Stars” series, which has become a family staple in the community over the years.

Families gathered for a moonlight screening of the 3D-animated hit musical comedy from Illumination Entertainment, Sing, starring the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson and many other stars. School of Rock Wayne performed prior to the show and food trucks were on hand with food from the famous Oink and Moo, Wayne’s very own Sweet Ice Queen and Johnny Zeppoli.

“Our thanks goes out to the Wayne Public Library, who helped to again make this a successful and fun family event for the Wayne community” said Joseph Barbieri, Wayne Branch Manager. “Spencer is proud to sponsor this event and to partner with such a wonderful organization.”

The seasonal movie night series will continue in September in the towns of Garwood and Elmwood Park.
