scholarship check presented to students by ceo/president of Spencer Savings Bank

Spencer Savings Bank, one of New Jersey’s leading community banks, is pleased to announce that it has awarded almost $40,000 in scholarships to 26 exceptional high school students in New Jersey. Each student received a $1,500 scholarship for college tuition assistance. Since the commencement of the bank’s scholarship program in 2002, over $700,000 in scholarships have been awarded to local students.

“As tuition costs continue to rise, community support is critical in making higher education accessible to students. At Spencer, we are committed to providing this support and removing financial barriers,” stated Jose B. Guerrero, Chairman, CEO and President of Spencer Savings Bank. “Our team had a wonderful time celebrating all the students at our annual scholarship ceremony last week. Congratulations to all the award winners!”

Students from various New Jersey school districts, within Spencer’s market area, were selected by their school’s guidance department to receive the scholarship. The students, and their families, attended a scholarship ceremony held at the Spencer Savings Bank financial center in Elmwood Park, NJ on June 24th. During the ceremony, students enjoyed a buffet dinner as they connected with the bank’s executive and senior leadership teams.
